Manual Handling and Fire Safety training. To communicate appropriately with all patients, parents/ carers and staff. This may include patients/ adults with special needs, culture and language differences and/or challenging behaviour. Effective liaison skills with all relevant staff within the ward team, and other departments.

Assertiveness skills will be called upon on a regular basis in order to advocate ward needs. (This may include some confrontation). To act appropriately in incidences of violence and/or agression or when dealing with a complaint. Good organisational skills through planning a workload and prioritising needs.

Regular use, training and updates on new practices and procedures. Good housekeeping skills. Basic teaching skills. Basic resource management skills.

Good telephone skills. Good IT skills. Excellent team player
