This role is based in Dundee, but we are happy for hybrid working 1-2 days per week BUT you must be in Scotland.

The company is growing fast So, this role would suit someone in a face faced environment who will grow, evolve, and grow the company, you can join as a Purchasing Administrator/Assistant, but you will be able to grow and climb the forever growing career path.

The ideal applicant is somebody with a decent educational background (ideally business type degree, but not a deal breaker) but that really wants to develop in their career and potentially study their CIPS qualification etc.

**The ideal person**:
This must be sharp and agile, but this is not a super high-level role and someone with 1-2 years + experience would be perfect

Your main role is to place all purchase orders, set up new suppliers, negotiation on costs and ensure purchase orders are correct.

You will manage the whole process so purchasing team experience and knowing processes is essential to Understand supplier relationships to build processes by the day.

**About the role**

The Procurement Specialist will report into the Commercial Trading Manager, forming the procurement division of our Corporate Services department.

The Procurement Specialist will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of our supply chain operations by leading on the procurement of a wide range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and driving the realisation of savings and benefits.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Creating and placing accurate purchase orders based on business demand.
- Carrying out product sourcing and new supplier selection in a timely manner, always demonstrating the best value.
- Setting up credit accounts and managing supplier relationships.
- Following up with supplier order confirmations and tracking goods through to delivery and invoicing.
- Making purchase recommendations based on business trends and product availability to ensure the right goods are in the right place at the right time.
- Negotiating best price for company goods and services, without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
- Undertaking cost reduction activities to reduce purchase cost for current product range.
- Communicating proactively with internal teams and external partners to address supply chain issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Supporting the resolution of any discrepancies or issues related to orders, deliveries, or inventory.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall supply chain performance.

**Experience & Skills**
- Strong educational background (ideally business type degree, but not a deal breaker)
- Keen to have a career Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or willingness to work towards CIPS qualification.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills & attention to detail.
- Experience of working closely with suppliers to negotiate best value.
- Advanced experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience of other logistics and/or financial software may also be beneficial.
