Tackling violence is the Mayor of London’s top priority. He set up London’s Violence Reduction Unit to pioneer an approach to tackling violence in London that is rooted in prevention and early intervention. The VRU’s Community Engagement Lead will oversee the VRU' Innovation Fund programme, focusing on the management, distribution and evaluation of grant funding delivered as part of the VRUs Community Engagement Strategy. The Community Engagement Lead will ensure that funded programmes align well with the VRU's outcomes framework and contribute to the VRUs Violence Reduction agenda. The Community Engagement lead will lead in managing the VRU Community Newsletter, where information on funding opportunities (internal and external ) and training for staff or young people will be sent out to grassroots organization on a weekly basis.

**Work hours**: Full time - Hybrid

**Salary**:£28.95 per hour PAYE - £37.46 per hour Umbrella

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- Lead on delivering monthly grant funding panels
- Maintain a grants management system inline with GDPR and manage data
- Support the Senior Manager for Youth and Community Engagement to ensure we are delivering the highest quality consistently
- Working with the Research Monitoring Evaluation and Learning team to manage data collection and monitoring processes and ensure activity achieve intended outputs and outcomes on time and to budget
- Establish and build strong relationships with strategic stakeholders, including awarded organisations and manage the distribution of funding to grantees and that they complete required monitoring and reporting
- Support the Senior Manager for Youth and Community Engagement to report progress to internal and external stakeholders via meetings, written reports and presentations
- Support the Senior Manager for Youth and Community Engagement to raise the profile of London VRU as credible grants distributor through engagement in funder networks
- Manage the VRU Innovation Fund inbox, responding to all enquiries in a timely fashion
- Lead on the weekly community newsletter, working alongside the communications team to put together an engaging newsletter.
- Attend networking events to identify opportunities for partnership, funding and training which we can share with the grassroots networking
- Communications and Public Affairs
- Assist the Communications team in the development of marketing and communications materials, including the identification of grantees to spotlight through digital storytelling and sharing content that can be used to promote the impact of our work through social media channels
- Lead the delivery of events to launch and showcase work where applicable, with support from the Events team

**Essential**
- Strong experience of grant management and distribution to grassroots organisations
- Significant management experience of commissioning, programme management, working in partnership and service delivery.
- Skilled at working across organisational boundaries, building rapport and motivating others to succeed.
- A proven track record of successful grant management and community engagement.
- Demonstrable experience of using new methods and technologies to improve community engagement, particularly with hard-to-reach groups to ensure they are aware of funding opportunities and training

- Previous experience in working with community engagement
