A Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Lead is required to work within a government department. This is a 6-12-month contract view to extend the post further, paying £650 per day inside IR35. The client would like some presence in the office 1-2 days per week based in London although this maybe flexible.

As a senior manager in the team, reporting directly to the Head of Communications for a particular business area, you will help the team to fulfil its purpose, with specific oversight (strategically and operationally) of either internal or external communications.

**Responsibilities**:

- You will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders and support them to be visible and engaged with our people and stakeholders.
- Create content, products and briefing material, including planning and organising events.
- Take responsibility for supporting evaluation and reporting of communications and engagement activity in your area and ensure we meet the required outcomes.
- Provide support to the G6/G7 and other senior leaders in directing and advising on all communications activity in relation the organisations response to a crisis.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

This is a specialist Communications role, that is required to demonstrate capability across the four competency areas Insight, Ideas, Implementation, Impact - identified in the Government Communications Service competency framework.

It is essential that the role holder is an experienced communications professional. You will need the confidence and experience to engage with a diverse range of users, staff, and stakeholders.

Knowledge of change and stakeholder communication and engagement models, and how to put these into practice. experience of delivering internal communications to a diverse and dispersed workforce, the majority of which is not desk based/ stakeholder communications to a diverse and demanding range of stakeholders.
