If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our ambitious and friendly team at NHS North East London. We are looking for two experienced professionals to shape our engagement and communications work with two of our Place Based Partnerships (Havering and Redbridge).

You will have experience of working with local communities and understand the importance of involving them and communicating with them to ensure the NHS and its partners can meet their needs.

You will have a flair for high quality, engagement, involvement and communications, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. You will be able to manage multiple projects and adept at building positive collaborative relationships both inside and outside of our organisation

Main duties of the job

This is a specialist position that requires a broad range of technical skills and knowledge to meet the requirements. You will have good knowledge of community engagement and involvement, and be able to support work to build a culture of genuine co-production with residents and a range of different local partners including Healthwatch and the voluntary and community sector. You will also need good experience and understanding of a wide range of professional communications skills.

The main duties of the post include but are not limited to:o Work closely with patients and public (particularly those who are traditionally hard to reach, equalities groups and who are the most vulnerable), and their representatives to:o inform audiences, particularly improving the health and care of those with the greatest health inequalitieso gather views and feedback data on health and services to inform service planning improvement and designo work collaboratively to develop, design and (where appropriate) co-produce a range of services and developmentso support the use of digital engagement and communications

NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) was formed on 1 July 2022.

We are an exciting new organisation putting the needs of communities at the heart of our commissioning arrangements.

We are working with local people and partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing for all our communities. Our key priority in the next year will be to develop closer integrated and collaborative ways of working with all our partners to implement our Out of Hospital Strategy.

Essential

Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or good experience of working at a similar level in specialist area (communications, participation and co-production)

Experience

Essential

Experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments Experience of drafting accessible and informative engagement and communications materials, including marketing and communications collateral, digital content, surveys, and briefing papers Experience of working collaboratively with local people to improve local services Experience of engagement and/or co-production

Desirable

Experience of working with the voluntary sector, community and faith groups and leaders

Skills

Essential

Able to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information, negotiate with stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information Able to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders and local people as required Evidence of planning and delivering programmes, projects and services on time and to budget, adjusting resources accordingly
