**What you'll be responsible for**:
- You will work alongside other Medical Secretary colleagues to ensure that clinical correspondence is produced and disturbed within acceptable time-scales.
- You will act as a main point of contact for patients and medical staff on behalf of the Consultants and their teams, ensuring all queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous, caring, and professional manner. It will be essential thatyou are able to work using your own initiative compatible with the role and that you maintain confidentiality at all times.
- You will be required to carry out all duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to both patients and our department.
**You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
**You'll have the following skills/experience**:
- Recent experience of working as Medical Secretary or similar in a busy office environment.
- Good command of English, possess excellent typewriting/word processing qualifications (minimum RSA Grade II or equivalent).
- Good working knowledge of 'Word and Excel'.
- Experience in minute taking, Medical terminology. (Desirable)
