To enable our recovery workers to move people through their substance use recovery journey more effectively?

We are looking for HCPC registered practitioner psychologists with strong CBT and motivational interviewing practice who not only possess expertise in their work within drug and alcohol services, but have a passion for developing skills and supporting and supervising others in the delivery of psychologically informed work.

As a specialist lead within the region you will be in a supportive environment where you will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills as well as providing an opportunity to develop leadership skills, making a difference beyond your own individual practice.

You will receive regular clinical supervision and professional support from the National Clinical Lead/ Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Substance Use.

You will be supported to engage in regular CPD and updates, in line with With You policy and professional registration requirements.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**:

- Demonstrable experience of having worked as a practitioner psychologist (e.g. clinical, or counselling) under the supervision of a more senior member of the profession for a minimum of 4 years
- Demonstrable experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of service users with a range of psychological needs and co existing substance use across the full range of severity and complexity
- Demonstrable experience of providing psychological treatments for trauma e.g. EMDR, trauma focussed CBT
- Experience of supervising the practice of psychology staff ie other practitioner psychologists and /or assistant psychologists and/or trainee psychologists
- Experience of supervising the psychological work of non psychologists
- Experience of carrying out post-doctoral research, audit or service evaluation projects, able to direct others in the same
- Experience of effective multidisciplinary and multi agency working
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological assessments and interventions
- Sound knowledge of the evidence base, range of treatment options and psychosocial interventions and service issues for people with problematic substance misuse, their families and carers
- Knowledge of best practice approaches and service issues linked to trauma informed care
- Theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and the evidence base for the relevant treatment
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the service user group including mental health issues, child and adult safeguarding, and equalities
- Doctoral level knowledge of psychological research methodology and complex statistical analysis

This role requires a satisfactory enhanced DBS certificate.

**DESIRABLE SKILLS**:

- Further specialist research or study, conferring advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of psychology within substance use
- Demonstrable experience of working specifically within the substance misuse field as a more experienced practitioner psychologist for a minimum of 2 years.
- Accreditation with BABCP as supervisor and/or trainer
- Experience of working across several service bases within a designated geographical area
- Experiences of working across services and organisations on clinical and service improvement / development projects
- Experience of contributing to the recruitment of more junior Psychologists
