Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Trainee B6

Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHSFT Full time

Position Overview

Are you dedicated to delivering exceptional psychological support for individuals facing Complex Emotional Needs (CENS)? Do you aspire to contribute to our mission of advancing psychological methodologies and trauma-informed practices? If this resonates with you, consider joining our Recovery Focused Team.

The Recovery Focused Team operates as a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) with various specialized pathways. This role is situated within the CENS pathway. In the CMHT, you will collaborate with Clinical Psychologists, an Assistant Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Psychiatry professionals, Nurse Consultants, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners, and Support Workers.

Recent enhancements in community mental health services in North Lincolnshire have resulted from significant financial investment, exceeding £1 million. This funding has been directed towards psychological services as part of the NHS long-term strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a transformative care group as we enhance our services in collaboration with other healthcare entities in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Our psychological therapists provide a diverse array of therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

We prioritize the development of our staff and are committed to investing in their professional growth. This position is open to candidates interested in training at band 6 as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist through a two-year funded University diploma focused on working with individuals with CENS. Upon successful completion of the diploma, candidates will advance to band 7 as qualified CBT therapists.

This role is primarily clinical, providing individual and family psychological therapies aimed at reducing waiting times in North Lincolnshire. Depending on your experience and interests, the position may also encompass consultation, supervision, service enhancement, teaching, and research activities.

We maintain strong connections with the local Clinical Psychology and CBT program at the University of Hull, along with other training institutions. Within our team, we currently engage in a blend of home and office-based (hybrid) work arrangements tailored to the service's needs.
