**Job Title**:Housing Engagement and Activities Coordinator

**Salary**:Grade B5; £24,667 (pro rata at £16,444)

**Hours**:Part-time, 25 hrs/week covering weekends, evening, bank holidays on a flexible basis so as to meet the demands of the service

The Housing management team is responsible for the provision of an effective and responsive service to all residents.

**Context**:The YMCA is one of the oldest and largest providers of support accommodation in Lincoln. With 151 units of supported accommodation across several sites within the City.

**Job purpose**:
The aim of the housing team is to try to break the cycle of homelessness and support people towards independent living.

Provide a range of engagement activities to positively impact resident’s health and wellbeing, and their journey towards independence.

This is a diverse role supporting vulnerable people with multiple and complex needs. As our Engagement Coordinator, you will provide a range of support activities to engage residents in meaningful volunteering activities, work with them to coproduce our services and seek feedback in relation to our services and performance alongside ideas for developing and improving them in the future.

You will contribute to and implement support plans, working with other relevant multi-agency support workers.

Support the realisation of the residents support’s goals and aspirations.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Devise and deliver a programme of activities to engage, enthuse and motivate residents.
- Co-ordinate consultation activity within the Charity, liaising with colleagues and partner organisations where relevant, to ensure that consultation work is co-ordinated and achieves the required outcomes
- Promote good consultation and community engagement practice across the Charity in line with agreed consultation procedures
- Carry out survey work, including analysis and reporting of feedback
- Design, facilitate and report on quantitative and qualitative consultations
- Organise and support suitable consultation events
- Implement the Involvement and Empowerment policy and associated action plan in housing
- Ensure all work undertaken is based on the assessment of the risk to the people you are providing activities and engagement activities for
- Assist the residents you support to, access educational, occupational, recreational and volunteering opportunities
- Actively promote health awareness, healthy living and facilitate positive lifestyle choices
- Refer to internal and external personal development opportunities for the residents you provide support to e.g. peer support volunteering and paid work, training opportunities, creative arts and health and wellbeing events; and actively encourage participation.
- To promote Co-production with the designated cohort to build a positive community spirit within housing where service users feel confident and comfortable being a part of every aspect in relation to the service they are offered.
- To stimulate positive physical and mental wellbeing within the hostel in line with MIND, BODY and SPIRIT.
- To actively engage with residents to provide tailored support.
- To reduce the effects of loneliness and isolation within the designated cohort through meaningful activity.
- Create and devise a resident representative within housing (as stipulated by service user feedback) to support communication between the organisation and its residents.
- To promote engagement in life skills among residents and in collaboration with housing staff and other services.
- To be a point of contact for activities relating to housing.
- Attend meetings at times and places convenient to consultees (including some evening meetings and weekends)
