We have two new amazing opportunities within the Family Health Division for Quality and Safety Leads, one within our Nottingham Children's Hospital and the other within our Neonatal Services.

Working with a vision of “delivering excellence in everything we do”, the Quality and Safety Leads (QRS) will lead the implementation and maintenance of quality systems across the service.

The Quality and Safety Lead will:
Provide expert leadership on governance and safeguarding processes within the directorate.

Enable and provide assurance of full compliance with all relevant clinical quality standards.

Drive improvements to governance and safeguarding processes across the directorate ensuring compliance with Trust and National policies, procedures and legislation.

The Post holder will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to staff throughout the two directorates.

Main duties of the job

Provide strong, visible, clinical leadership across the directorates in partnership with speciality and Division Leadership teams

Challenge, in a positive manner, current working practices within specialities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Promote a better understanding of governance mechanisms and systems within departments across the directorates including how professionals can work to together to provide optimal governance of clinical services.

Lead on the development of new clinical policies and procedures within Clinical Specialities across the directorate.

Work closely with specialty and division leadership teams to promote an ethos of joint working, collaboration and mutual respect amongst all members of staff. Ensure all staff take responsibility for safety and cleanliness of the clinical environment.

**Nottingham Children’s Hospita**l is housed within the Queen’s Medical Centre campus and has 116 inpatient beds across 8 inpatient wards covering all specialities.

This is a exciting time to join Nottingham Childrens Hospital as we became the first Children’s Hospital in Europe to achieve pathway to excellence accreditation in 2020. This makes Nottingham Childrens Hospital a special place to work. Not only does this show that we provide excellent care to patients and family’s it is also recognition that we have fantastic teams, leadership at all levels and a huge array of development opportunities.

**Neonatal Services**:

- We provide care for tertiary level neonatal care for premature babies and their families at Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital, we are the north hub in the East Midlands for neonatal intensive care. We are proud to offer both medical and surgical intensive care for extremely premature and very sick infants, as well as having an integrated outreach team in place to support babies and families once they return home.

This is an exciting time to join our neonatal team as we expand our neonatal service through a capital estates development is progressing as part of the Maternity and Neonatal Redesign programme. This will create;
A completely refurbished and expanded neonatal unit at the QMC, providing an additional 21 cots and taking the total cots at the QMC campus to 38;
Brand new, state of the art equipment;
A better working environment for staff.
