An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Risk Management to join the Corporate Quality and Patient Safety Team at NUH. We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled individual, with significant experience of risk management in an acute hospital setting.

You will lead on the development of a dynamic and responsive risk management framework that supports our mission to continually improve our services and ensure patients and staff are protected from harm.

Main duties of the job
- Ensure that a comprehensive risk management function is in place, effective and maintained across the organisation.
- Provide expert advice, support and leadership for risk management, risk assessment and risk based training.
- Work directly with divisional and corporate directorate Governance Leads and Specialist Advisers to ensure that risk management principles and processes are embedded across the Trust

NUH is a large, busy Teaching Trust, providing care to over 2.5.million community residents. This role sits within the Corporate Quality and Patient Safety Team and will work closely with the other Senior Managers in the Team to support the delivery of a robust quality governance framework across the whole Trust.

Training and experience

Essential criteria
- Masters level education or equivalent level of experience working at a senior level in specialist area
- Highly developed specialist knowledge across all areas of role scope underpinned by theoretical knowledge and / or practical experience
- Significant proven and demonstrated experience in Quality Governance at a Senior level within the NHS or similar environment for several years.
- Experience in managing contentious situations and influencing diverse stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinical staff, to achieve objectives
- Proven responsibility for major policy development and implementation which impact across the organisations

Desirable criteria
- Significant experience of working within a lead role in relation to regulation and compliance
- Project management skills

- Excellent communications skills, written and oral including highly effective report writing, policy development and Executive briefings. Ability to present highly complex data.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
