- REG525823The Health and Safety Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational support to the University on all health and safety issues. The University are looking to bring onboard a new Head of Health and Safety to lead the operational management of a health and safety team. The role will report into the Director of Health and Safety and will manage a team of health and safety professionals.

Responsibilities of the Head of Health and Safety will include:

- Engaging with key stakeholders to drive a positive health and safety culture, from employees right through to senior management
- Strategically implementing and developing health and safety across the University
- Leading the wider University faculties on the development and delivery of operational safety, and identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the health and safety function internally and externally for students, staff and visitors
- To analyse risk across the day-day working environment and to create change to mitigate risks as much as possible
- Day to day management of a team of health and safety professionals

The successful Head of Health and Safety will have:

- Possess or working towards NEBOSH Health & Safety Diploma qualification.
- Proven experience of managing a health and safety in a complex organisation ideally from Higher Education/Universities.
- Experience in influencing, engaging, and liaising with all levels of an organisation from senior management to operations to create cultural change on safety
- Experience of managing health and safety professionals

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
