**Purpose of the role**

You will be responsible for ensuring any governance solutions address our business and data needs, are effectively delivered and incorporated into business processes to ensure tangible benefits are maximised and ownership of processes and data is recognised, assigned and maintained correctly, minimising risks wherever possible.

**What skills are we looking for?**

As our **Process and Data Governance Specialist**, you will support and assist with the development, deployment and embedding of the Data Governance and Quality Framework and Data ownership model, managing any associated data governance methodology, standards, training and quality assurance activities. You will also:

- Work with the Process and Data Governance Manager to define and deliver our Data Governance and Quality Framework, including Standards, deploying and embedding appropriate ownership models for data and process owners
- Create suitable processes to measure relevant maturity from a data and a process perspective, ensuring clear targets and deliverables are agreed with the respective process/data owners, with tracking and reporting on progress as required
- Ensure alignment between frameworks developed across the business (e.g. Business Capabilities and Services, IMS, Internal & External Audit, Risks & Controls, KPI tree etc.)
- Collaborate and engage with all levels of the business, championing the adoption of Governance and Quality Strategies, whilst managing efficient and effective processes and data solutions to drive governance and quality
- Support on-going dialog, reporting, engagement activities and the communications strategy to ensure all employees understand the importance and value of governing our processes and information assets appropriately
- Advocate and influence for the advancement and utilisation of Process and Data Governance and Quality within Yorkshire Water
- Understand and leverage ARIS functionality to build a Process and Data Driven Culture across Yorkshire Water, including the coaching and training for key ARIS user community members
- Horizon-scan the internal environment and develop partnerships with other areas of the business to understand and anticipate the need for change
- Contribute to governance forums with key senior stakeholders as necessary
- Engage with external bodies to ensure Yorkshire Water is continuously at the forefront of Governance innovation and best-practice thinking from other water utilities and wider business sectors.

**Knowledge and Skills Required**

**Essential**:
Our **Process and Data Governance Specialist **will have significant experience working in large, complex multi-disciplined business teams and environments with differing levels of Data Governance maturity, as well as having experience in driving change / improvement. You will also:

- Have knowledge and/or practical experience of at least one of the ISO standards associated with data, process, quality (e.g. ISO38505, ISO9000, ISO27000, ISO8000, ISO37170, ISO16175, ISO15944)
- Hold a Data Quality certification or equivalent experience, (ARMA International, Data Management Association International - DAMA, Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals - ICCP, information System Audit & Control Association - ISACA etc.)
- Have previous experience of driving transformational change in large organisations using process design methodologies, practices and tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe etc.
- Have practical, demonstrable experience of defining and deploying data, process quality rulesets and processes
- Be able to build and maintain strong effective working relationships with colleagues across the business
- Drive the data quality agenda in line with Corporate behaviours and values in accordance with the Governance programme, working with our Change teams to ensure the programme is sufficiently understood and supported in terms of capacity and capability.

- Data Protection Information Governance qualification
- GDPR qualification
- ISO certification process delivery
- Practical demonstrable experience of deploying Data Quality frameworks in large, complex organisations
- Ability to analyse and manipulate data using SQL and/or Excel to identify gaps and data exceptions
- Experience using a data profiling tool
- Experience with developing and managing content in SharePoint
- Experience of PowerApp and PowerFlow
- Experience of PowerBI dashboard/report developer.
