Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic individual with a "get up and go" attitude to help support the Trusts Prevent, Correct and Clear Data Quality Programme.

This role will provide dedicated resource to users in their place of work to address clinical and non-clinical data quality issues.

The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly following an Induction and training period.

The successful applicant will also work closely with the Corporate teams to understand the continued 'clear' work and be part of a continuous cycle of improvement driven by data to reduce data quality errors across the Trust, improving information and expanding the knowledge and skills across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant must have previous supervisory/leading role experience in a hospital setting, and experience of Cerner and an understanding of data quality issues.

In addition you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be proactive and through your interpersonal skills, you should be able to crisis manage and actively problem solve.

Your key skills in this role will be;

Experience of managing and engaging with a variety of staff including clinical and operational management Adaptable to changes in working patterns Organisational skills Ability to interact with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues

Job responsibilities

The Data Quality Intervention Specialist will have responsibility for ensuring that all data quality errors are proactively managed by supporting end-users, providing on-site, desk-side data input training across all areas of admitted and non-admitted patient care. Link closely with Education and Training teams in the development of ongoing training and workload plans to maintain training of individual data entry staff to provide business support, plays a key role in this post and will require an in-depth understanding of end to end workflows and data quality in the following areas: Elective and Emergency Pathways which includes but is not limited to, Referral to Treatment (RTT) Data, Outpatient Referral Management, Outpatient Clinic Management, Inpatient Scheduling, Inpatient Ward Management (Elective and Emergency), theatres and ED administration.

Effectively communicate with all members of teams and formulate close working relationships. Provide key information on staff member training and development needs and attend regular team/CSU/ operational meetings.

Experience

Essential

Specialist knowledge across a range of work procedures and practices (Standard Operating Procedures), underpinned by theoretical knowledge or relevant practical experience. Previous recent experience in a supervising/leading role in a hospital environment. Experience of managing and engaging with a variety of staff including clinical and operational management staff. Working as part of a team and individually, using own initiative as and when required. Experience of using Cerner Millennium/PAS/hospital systems. Experience of working with Trust's policies and procedures. Experience if implementing RTT Pathway training and validation processes. Experience of making data quality changes within an acute setting.

Desirable

Training staff groups on DQ recording. Previous Cerner usage.

Skills

Essential

Skilled in communicating messages to stakeholders in a persuasive and motivational way to encourage improvements, often involving negotiation skills. Ability to make judgements based on complex facts and situations relating to patient pathways, requiring analysis, interpretation and judgement. Planning and organisation of a schedule of training and end user interactions, allowing for adjustments according to operational teams availability and work priorities. Excellent supervisory skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse groups Ability to influence others and motivate teams. Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Report Writing Excellent organisational skills.

Knowledge

Essential

An expert knowledge of RTT pathways, rules and data definitions. Experience of implementing procedures for own work area and proposing procedures of service change which impact beyond own team. Knowledge of a range of administrative duties. Knowledge and understanding of the Health Service, data flows, definitions and classifications. In-depth knowledge of NHS Data Dictionary. Good knowledge and understanding of Caldicott guidelines and Data Protection. Knowledge of Health and Safety protocols.

Desirable

Thorough understanding of the Trust Access Policy and Standard Operating Procedures

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to A level including Math's and English or equivalent experience. Degree qualified ideally in health related subject or significant experience in a similar role. Evidence of continuing professional development. ECDL or equivalent experience experience of a range of IT packages such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable

Leadership/Management certificate. Training Qualification.
