**Role Overview**:
Oldham Council are looking for an experienced co-ordinator to take a lead on aspects of the Council's vision of improving outcomes and participation of residents in pre/post 16 education, engagement, training, skills and employment provision through professional engagement with a wide range of partners, professionals and agencies. This includes building a cross sectoral boroughwide partnership and develop relationships which ensure the delivery of a high-quality programme and to provide operational leadership, influencing partners to engage in the programme and reporting to senior management of its delivery and outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To co-ordinate the implementation of the GMCA Community Grant Funding across Oldham, working closely with the Managing Agent as well as partners
- Be the first point of contact for all local integration between the Local Authorities, GMCA, the wider delivery landscape.
- Be responsible for the development and maintenance of an area mapping process of available skills provision in Oldham, including how residents’ access this provision.
- Broker and manage relationships with delivery organisations and stakeholders who are part of the wider Eco-system of education, skills and work provision across Oldham and GM.
- Ensure the provision delivers consistently high standards that support residents.
- Work closely with the GMCA performance management.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings and events across GM to support the integration and delivery of education, skills and work provision with a view to ensuring Oldham receives an offer of provision commensurate with its unemployment workforce position.
- Be the first point of contact and work closely with the Community Grants Managing Agent to support all aspects of the administration of grants in your local area.
- Work closely with the Communities and Place Single Point of Contact role.
- Co-ordinate the provision of support from community groups funded by UKSPF to identify residents and signpost to provision and promote as necessary.
- Work in partnership with professionals and partners to provide advice, guidance and support as necessary in facilitating participation in education, skills and work provision for all residents.
- Establish effective processes and be responsible for accurate records.
- Develop relevant, appropriate and innovative communications and marketing information.
- To be responsible for ensuring that all provision adheres to relevant policies, procedures and practices.

**Key Requirements**:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

- Sufficient literacy and numeracy to be able to undertake the role.
- Evidence of continued professional and personal development.
- Experience of working successfully with education and skills providers and employers.
- Experience of preparing and delivering presentations to a range of audiences.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting complex datasets.
- Experience of using computer packages for word processing, spreadsheets, databases and researching information.
- Experience of working effectively across the organisation at all levels and with a range of partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to use initiative to respond to unexpected problems using recognised procedures & policies as a guide.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Knowledge and understanding of the wider Education, Skills and Work (EWS) eco system.
- Knowledge of the education sector, in particular post compulsory education.
- Understanding of the challenges facing residents when seeking to improve skills or seek employment.
- A good understanding of key local and national issues.
- Excellent overall knowledge of the council, its functions, structures and governance.
- Able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.
- Able to travel to different sites across the Borough and GM.
