London School of Science & Technology is currently looking to recruit a Legal Advisor for their Head Office.

**Job purpose**:
To be responsible for the provision of legal advice and support for a broad range of legal matters and relevant functions of the organisation and its associated companies.

**Responsibilities will include (but not limited to)**:

- Reviewing and updating relevant policies and regulations in relation to changes of legal and regulatory requirements; managing the Prevent and Safeguarding compliance within an educational establishment; reviewing/updating Contracts for the organisation and providing advice to other areas of the business including Executive Management, HR Department, Academic faculty and Operational Management teams.
- Ability to assist the organisation in the legal management of its commercial buildings including oversight of lease negotiations/disputes, purchases, construction contracts/maintenance, building regulatory compliance in addition to liaison with landlords and other key stakeholders.
- You will be able to work on your own initiative, produce high quality work to tight deadlines with excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task whilst remaining focussed and calm under pressure.
- You will be proactive in identifying and establishing methods to reduce potential risk or liability to the organisation and its associated companies.

**Person Specification**:

- Solicitor or barrister qualified to practice in the UK (or equivalent) with some post qualification work experience working in private practice or in-house
- Experienced in providing legal advice and support relevant to the higher education sector
- Ability to lead cross-institutional projects across the organisation and its associated companies
- Ability to give clear and concise explanations of legal issues to non-qualified members of the organisation at all levels on non-contentious and contentious matters
- Ability to write/prepare high quality papers, presentations, reports and briefings to the Executive Committee Board and other internal/external stakeholders
- This role will include interaction with senior management within the organisation which requires excellent interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy and a very high standard of written and oral communication.

**Salary**: £60,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
