If so, this may be the perfect role for you.We have a brand-new role for an Internal Communications Officer to collaborate with all directorates within the organisation and manage and create engaging content, aimed at the employees of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). Being part of a strong team of 3, you will contribute to the implementation of an internal communications strategy, developing tailored strategies and plans for internal programmes, events, initiatives and campaigns.

You will drive forward key projects such as intranet enhancements, data transformation and delivering outputs of our recent employee engagement survey. This is an instrumental role in order for the team to provide consistency and deliver high-quality content that highlights the significance of the work that we do and the importance of our organisation’s values.

To be successful in this role you will need to be proactive, creative, highly collaborative and have a passion for internal communications.

**What will you be doing?**
- Develop and maintain key corporate internal communication channels
- Develop and manage a corporate programme of internal communications activity
- Support the team on the strategic planning, compilation and delivery of internal communications, campaigns and promotions
- Manage the maintenance and further development of the organisation’s Intranet content
- Monitor and evaluate communications channels and activity
- Work in close strategic partnership with the corporate communications team and design team to ensure major communications campaigns, events and initiatives are delivered effectively
- Project manage a wide range of multi-channel campaigns for key internal audiences
- Promote the use of the intranet as the key internal communication channel for staff
- Monitor and research the latest industry developments

**About you.**
- Proven track record of planning and executing successful communications campaigns and engagement activities
- Experience of using computer-based information systems
- Experience of updating websites, blogs and social media channels
- Experience of using employee engagement tools and techniques
- Strong strategic project management and stakeholder management skills
- Able to deliver high-quality communications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative approach to problem-solving
- An attitude and willingness to work flexibly and collaboratively
- Ability to react flexibly to changing work demands
- Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills

Hybrid working means having flexibility between working in the office and at home on agreed days, where a role allows.

The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane. It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
