**Job summary**:
As part of its commitment to good decision-making and governance, the New Healthcare Facilities Programme is looking to appoint an on-island independent advisor to assist the Ministerial Group. Responsible Officers, Ministers, and the States Assembly are the only parties with the authority to make decisions relating to the programme. However, this position is being created to serve as a critical friend to the programme.

This individual will support the Chief Minister, Minister for Infrastructure, Minister for Health and Social Services and Minister for Treasury and Resources to provide assurance that:

- The frameworks for decision making are robust and effective.
- Decision making information provided to ministers is comprehensive and outlines both positive and negative implications of different options.
- The content and any courses of action recommended to ministers is effectively challenged and explored.
- The Ministerial Group receives appropriate external challenge in its discussions.
