The Edinburgh Research Partnership in Engineering (ERPE) is a strategic alliance between Heriot-Watt University and the University of Edinburgh created for the Research Excellence Framework (REF). As two of the UK's leading research universities, we work with academic, industry and public sector partners delivering world-leading expertise in engineering to deliver the most effective commercial, social, environmental and economic impacts.

Edinburgh Innovations is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of the University of Edinburgh, responsible applied research support services, management of technology transfer activities, consultancy services and company formation. This newly created role will sit within Edinburgh Innovations but support the Schools of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and Heriot Watt University.

In the most recent REF submission, the Edinburgh Research Partnership in Engineering was ranked 1st in Scotland and 3rd in the UK, based on the quality and breadth of our research by Times Higher Education. 96% of our research activity was ranked as world-leading and internationally excellent.

**The Opportunity**:
This is a diverse role that provides a unique experience of engaging with world leading researchers whilst harnessing your abilities in relationship management, research support, project co-ordination and nurturing the impact narrative for REF based research.

The post holder will be benefit from a supportive team of business development and research support professionals. Reporting to the Business Development Manager for the University of Edinburgh’s School of Engineering and you will be supporting activities from across all both Schools. The role is based at the Kings Buildings Campus at the University of Edinburgh but will also enjoy co-location at Heriot Watt’s Riccarton campus.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Educated to degree level or relevant experience within the HEI/Research sector.
- Understanding of REF impact and outputs derived from research utilised by external organisations
- Highly motivated and proactive approach with significant attention to detail
- Ability to work across dual locations and strong relationship management skills
- Experience of coordinating multi-partner projects within Higher Education or similar
- Competency in presenting information in a clear and concise manner
- Awareness of research commercialisation or technology transfer
