**VACANCY: Sustainability Officer**

Saxon Air is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest the future of sustainable aviation to join the Sustainability team on a full time, permanent basis.

The Sustainability officer position is an entry level role into the business, with opportunity to develop within the organisation. We are therefore looking for an innovative, forward thinking, engaged individual who has a good understanding of environmental impacts and sustainability within business, and who is organised, competent in office 365, with excellent attention to detail and a team player. The individual will need good written and spoken language, to effectively communicate and deliver excellence to our internal and external clients, and the ability to think outside the box would benefit many aspects of this role. An individual that shares our INSPIRE values and is looking to work in a collaborative and innovative way with our Kaizen team members.

SaxonAir is a private jet and helicopter operator based at Norwich Airport in our purpose-built Business Aviation Centre and hangar facility. Designed to meet the demands of the offshore transportation sector as well as offering excellent service for our VIP passengers, alongside the benefits of a business hub and events space. **ABOUT THE TEAM**

The HR, Wellbeing & Sustainability team is at the heart of the business, working together with the rest of the team, and other Operational Departments to ensure the smooth running of the operation. The team are people-focussed, ensuring our staff are at the heart of what we do. This demands a certain amount of face-to-face interaction with the office, but is flexible in line with the company’s values, especially when tackling sustainability and our carbon emissions, therefore this is a hybrid role, with a mixture of office and home working, dependant on individual circumstances and needs.

**THE ROLE**

The role is primarily dedicated to assisting the Wellbeing & Sustainability Manager to deliver on our Sustainability strategy and aims within Klyne Aviation and Saxon Air companies, however it will also include active involvement in the wellbeing function. This position will be a key part of the HR, Wellbeing & Sustainability team, weaving Kaizen principles throughout the business, working together in achieving excellence at SaxonAir and Klyne Business Aviation Centre. A keen interest or previous experience working in aviation is desirable.

Duties of the role include.
- Administration of company-wide initiatives such as department carbon budgets
- Mapping overall business emissions
- Offsetting and SAF logs
- Emissions and income reports for finance department
- Internal and external communications
- Weaving sustainable practices throughout various department areas championing responsible business operations
- Carbon emissions mapping and reporting
- Quarterly offsets calculations and record keeping
- Development and administration of department carbon budgets
- Participation with external groups and memberships such as Norfolk carbon charter, chamber of commerce BCL
- Purchasing and keeping records of carbon offsets
- Active involvement in various sustainability projects
- Keeping up to date with industry updates
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements and legal responsibilities relating to sustainability and carbon emissions.
- Research on new technologies, industry advances and innovation grants
- Updating SharePoint pages and creating regular newsletters
- Developing presentations and communications documents
- Contribution to monthly reports to directors and stakeholders
- Attending industry and sustainability events
- Participation in wellbeing function and projects
- Involvement in company projects relating to INSPIRE values.
- Active involvement in the Ambassadors programme and in facilitating associated activities.
- Weaving the ‘Kaizen’ strategy throughout the organisation.
- Diplomacy, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good co-ordination skills.
- Enthusiastic and outgoing.
- Able to support business priorities and needs.
- Disciplined and focused.

**FUNDAMENTALS**
