The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) is an executive agency of the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), delivering over £2 billion in payments to farmers, traders and landowners each year.

**Job description**:
Operational Delivery is the outward face of government, providing vital services to our customers and stakeholders. In the Rural Payments Agency (RPA), colleagues working within Operational Delivery are at the frontline of our work, which provides millions of pounds to the rural economy every year, making a real difference to the lives of people throughout England’s countryside by helping to support businesses and make communities more sustainable, and protecting and enhancing the natural environment. Our people do an essential job across the agency, helping customers to access services and meet their obligations.

These posts are for Senior Stakeholders to work across RPA. They will undertake a diverse range of functions to support the operational and strategic leadership of the Agency, delivering services to our customers and people within the Agency. During the appointment, you may work in, or in support of, any or all of these activities, depending on the demands of the agency and our customers.

**Person specification**:

- Excellent Communication skills - demonstrating the ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders from within RPA and Defra Group and external stakeholders such as Devolved Administrations to have a positive impact on engagement and business performance.
- Analysing Data/Insight - gathering and using data and insight to evaluate business performance or engagement and communicating this to stakeholders and teams linking into the overall RPA Strategy and People Plans.
- Engaging Leadership - Lead and engage teams and stakeholders in a straightforward, truthful and candid way to provide strategic direction to RPA’s cultural change and future activity.
- Stakeholder Management - working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across RPA, Defra group and potentially Devolved Administrations to deliver key agency objectives including future schemes.
- Data Management - work with stakeholders to present complex data sets presenting your findings to senior leaders in a clear and engaging manner, whilst meeting General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), this could include working across the Devolved Administrations.
- Fast Paced Environment - Planning and delivering work for teams/the business areas both in real time and forward look to ensure accurate delivery in all areas.
- Continuous Improvement - embedding a culture of continuous improvement within the agency including the development of future schemes or tools which will enable schemes to operate.
- Presentation Skills - You will be expected to present either written or orally to a variety of stakeholders often using MS Tools.
- There may be an element of line management within the Stakeholder Management Posts which will include remote management.
- Some roles may require travel.

Operational Delivery Stakeholder Manager roles may be in any of the RPA Directorates.
