About the school:

Our esteemed SEMH school in Newham caters to children from Year 1 upwards. The school prides itself on its inclusive and nurturing environment, designed to support the unique needs of each student. Rated “Good” by Ofsted, the school boasts a variety of facilities including formal and informal classrooms, therapy rooms, a family room, a behaviour support room, and specialized rooms for food technology and science.

The staff at our school are dedicated to providing the highest level of support and resources to both students and teaching assistants, ensuring a collaborative and enriching work environment.

About the role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in a supportive and dynamic educational environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you As an SEN TA with a specialism in SEMH, you will be an integral part of our team, providing crucial support to children with SEMH needs.

You will work closely with small groups of children or provide 1-on-1 support, helping them navigate their educational journey. The role is set to begin in September, and you will be welcomed into a warm and supportive school community. Your contributions will be pivotal in helping our students achieve their full potential both academically and emotionally.

Application Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications and experience in SEMH.

• Passion for working with children with special educational needs.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a team.

• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs in both group and 1-on-1 settings.

• Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure holistic support for each student.

• Monitor and report on student progress, adapting strategies as necessary.
