About the role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in challenging behaviours to join our team. This full-time position has become available due to the expansion of our SEN department, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional support to our students. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with our SEN team to support students with challenging behaviours, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

You will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to the development and implementation of personalised learning plans. You will be working primarily with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students in small group settings, ensuring tailored support and attention.

The role stands out due to the comprehensive training and continuous professional development opportunities we offer, along with a supportive leadership team dedicated to staff well-being.

• A strong understanding of SEN, particularly in managing challenging behaviours.

• Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs.

• Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with challenging behaviours in both classroom and one-on-one settings.

• Assisting in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).

• Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to provide holistic support.

• Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour.

• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting social and emotional development.
