About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to become an integral part of our vibrant school community in Newham. Working closely with our team of committed educators, you will provide essential support to our amazing students, ensuring they receive the best care and education.

Key Responsibilities of SEN TA:

Morning Support: Offer targeted assistance to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including those with ADHD and potential self-harming behaviors.
Afternoon Flexibility: Provide support across Key Stages 1 and 2, adapting to a wide range of educational needs.
Nurturing Environment: Use your skills to create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where every child can thrive.
Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalized support plans and interventions.
Foster Growth: Build strong, positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic development.
Nappy Changing: Provide nappy changing and personal care assistance as required, ensuring all students feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the school day.

SEN TA Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, while also being able to work independently when needed.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with students and staff.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications and/or training in education, SEN, or child development are desirable.
A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential for this role. Successful candidates must pass all necessary background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
