About the role:

If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in the vibrant and diverse community of Newham, London. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students, providing tailored support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. You will be part of a committed team that includes highly qualified and experienced staff who are dedicated to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children who exhibit challenging and violent behaviours is essential.
• A qualification in Special Educational Needs is advantageous but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• An understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to promoting the welfare of all students.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support to SEN students, particularly those who exhibit challenging and violent behaviours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support students in regulating their emotions and behaviours.
• Assist with the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons, adapting materials as necessary to meet the diverse needs of the students.
