This role leads a multi location game engineering department from our London office. You will be a key player in driving our growth and success, shaping the future of our game portfolio and supporting technologies.
This role requires a strong leader with a deep technical background, who can not only lead a diverse team of engineers but also foster a collaborative environment across all technical disciplines within the business unit and across the company as a whole.

What You'll Do

What will your role involve:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team of engineers, QA specialists, and technical product owners.

  • Drive technical excellence by promoting best practices, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring efficient development and testing processes.

  • Collaborate and partner effectively with cross-functional teams (production, product, art, design) to ensure alignment with business objectives and player needs.

  • Advocate for the technical roadmap by communicating the business criticality of central tech initiatives and influencing resource allocation across the wider organization.

  • Own the technical vision for our game portfolio, ensuring the development of scalable, performant, and maintainable systems.

  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative solutions to enhance development and quality processes, workflows, and tools.

What We're Looking For

We ideally are looking for you to have the following skills/experiences

  • Proven experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, including development, QA, and technical product owners.

  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of full stack web environments, particularly Ruby on Rails, and experience with cloud-based technologies (GCP preferred).

  • Demonstrable experience in driving best quality practices, fostering a culture of quality across multi-disciplinary teams with an eye for continuous improvement from a quality perspective

  • Experience advocating and promoting modern, agile software development practices.

  • Proven ability to build consensus, collaborate effectively, and influence across teams.

  • Experience in mobile games development using Unity and C# (or similar)
