Job Summary:

My client, a leader in their field are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director of Technology to join their team on a 6-month contract. This role requires a dynamic individual with extensive knowledge and experience in banking data, data architecture, and cloud data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing robust data architectures, developing metadata frameworks, and establishing data governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Leadership:

    • Run the data architecture function or act as the lead Director of Technology within a significant business or architectural area.
    • Design and implement target data architectures that align with business needs and strategic goals.
    • Stand up data architecture design and governance processes to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.

  • Metadata and Data Governance:

    • Develop and maintain metadata frameworks, standards, and approaches.
    • Implement enterprise data catalogues and models to enhance data management and accessibility.
    • Ensure strong data governance and data quality frameworks are in place and adhered to.

  • Cloud Data Architectures:

    • Develop and maintain cloud data architectures in either AWS or Azure.
    • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design and apply logical data models.
    • Construct comprehensive business data glossaries to standardize data definitions and usage.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience:

    • Extensive experience running a data architecture function or acting as a lead data architect within a significant business or architectural area.
    • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of banking data.
    • Proven track record of designing and implementing target data architectures.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Practical experience with batch and real-time data sourcing and integration patterns.
    • Proficiency in big data and traditional warehousing/relational database technologies.
    • Expertise in business intelligence and analytics tooling, and master data management technologies.
    • Strong understanding of cloud data architectures in either AWS or Azure.
