Data Protection Officer

Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Manage data protection helpdesk, answer queries in a timely manner and where necessary escalate queries to the Data Protection Manager and / or Data Protection Officer (DPO).
- Provide advice and guidance to business owners to ensure compliance with the relevant data protection laws and company policies / SOPs.
- Carry out assessments including.
- Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)
- Service assessments
- Legitimate Interests Assessments
- Transfer Impact Assessments
- Design and deliver data protection training.
- Manage personal data breach process, carry out initial risk assessment when a breach / incident is reported and escalate where necessary.
- Organise relevant meetings and where necessary, prepare agendas, necessary papers, meeting minutes etc.
- Any other team administrative tasks.
Other data protection tasks include:
- Review, update and monitor the data protection compliance programme across all relevant company entities and carry out compliance reviews.
- Drafting of privacy notices, data protection related SOPs, policies and templates.
- Ensure requests from data subjects on issues relating to data protection practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten etc. are dealt with in accordance with the requirements.
- Ensure the records of processing activities (processing register or ROPA) for each relevant company entity is maintained in line with Article 30 and ensure these are up to date.
- Support the Data Protection Manager and the DPO in any other team task.

Working Conditions:
- This job is based in Hatfield and may require some international travel, both regionally and globally.
- Company currently operates a hybrid/flexible working model where employees work half of working time ‘in person’ with others (on-site or elsewhere) and half of working time working remotely.
