About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our Data Protection team. As a Data Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in advising and influencing employees across the international business to continuously improve data privacy compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisory Role
    • Provide guidance and advice to employees on data protection policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
  • Data Protection Compliance
    • Ensure that data protection policies, standards, and guidelines are operating effectively and are kept up to date.
    • Investigate personal data breaches and collaborate with the Data Privacy Champions to identify risks and advise on mitigating actions.
  • Education and Training
    • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data protection policies and procedures.
    • Provide guidance on data protection awareness and best practices.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate data protection policies and procedures to employees and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with the Data Privacy Champions to ensure that Ocado maintains processing inventories and a record/register of processing activities.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Experience of process analysis and process documentation in a programme or project environment.
    • Experience of investigating data breaches and advising the business in relation to data protection requirements.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Excellent knowledge of EU and UK Data Protection Legislation.
    • Good understanding of information technologies and data security.
    • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and best practice.
  • Education
    • A professional qualification in data protection would be desirable.
