About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team, responsible for advising and influencing employees across the organization to ensure data privacy compliance. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential data protection risks and implement mitigating measures.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on data protection best practices and ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining data privacy.
- Investigate and respond to data breaches, collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and contain the breach.
- Work closely with the Data Protection Officer to ensure that all data protection activities are aligned with the organization's overall data protection strategy.
- Support the development and implementation of data protection impact assessments to ensure that all projects and processes involving personal data are compliant with relevant regulations.
- Provide advice and guidance to employees on data protection-related matters, including subject access requests and data subject rights.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data protection and compliance, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations, including GDPR and UK Data Protection Act.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and advise employees at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Professional qualification in data protection or a related field is desirable.
