We operate a global business that automates the single pick of products, ready for online delivery. Our Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) are highly automated and use proprietary software applications to drive our business.
About the role
This is a great opportunity to join a Data Protection team that is extremely busy, with competing deadlines and changing priorities. The role involves advising and influencing employees across the international business to continuously improve data privacy compliance.
You will support multiple stakeholders across the global business to ensure there is a single, end-to-end view of all business processes using personal data. This role is integral in driving a data privacy culture, and you will be responsible for educating the business on all aspects of data privacy.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Writing guidance, communications, and policy documents to ensure data privacy policies, standards, and guidelines are operating effectively and are kept up to date.
- Investigating personal data breaches, collaborating with Data Privacy Champions to identify risks and advise on mitigating actions, ensuring they are implemented.
- Escalating personal data breaches to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) that present a high risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects.
- Supporting investigations of any complaints from a Data Protection Supervisory Authority.
- Working with Data Privacy Champions across the global business to ensure Ocado maintains processing inventories and a record/register of processing activities.
- Identifying potential issues and risks with respect to the processing of personal data both within and across business functions.
- Clearly communicating areas of concern to Data Privacy Champions, Process Owners, and the DPO, escalating on issues log/Risk Register.
- Supporting the business with Data Protection Impact Assessments to influence and improve compliance for projects and processes involving personal data; including advising on the most appropriate legal basis.
About You
- Experience of process analysis and process documentation in a programme or project environment.
- A good understanding of information technologies and data security.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and best practice.
- Excellent knowledge of EU and UK Data Protection Legislation.
- Experience of investigating data breaches and advising the business in relation to data protection requirements.
- A professional qualification in data protection would be desirable.
