Business Development Manager - Central London
Duncan & Todd Group is one of the leading optical and hearing care providers based in Scotland, with several established brands under its umbrella. Among these are Smart Employee Eyecare and Caledonian Optical, which focus on delivering high-quality lens products to optician practices across the UK and Ireland.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to cover Central London to work across both Smart Employee Eye Care and Caledonian Optical.
The role involves full-time work (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility, including remote work, travel within Central London and occasional travel to the Head Office in Aberdeen for team meetings. (This role focuses on business-to-business sales, targeting independent opticians for Caledonian Optical and corporate businesses for Smart Employee Eyecare vouchers in Central London. Additionally, building and maintaining client relationships are crucial aspects of the role.
Strategy and Planning
and implement a sales strategy annually to maximise profitability and improve performance.
Sales and Business Development
and prioritize target markets, industries, and potential clients for business development efforts. Through cold calls/ walks in and Networking within the London area.
market research and feasibility studies to assess the viability of new business opportunities and partnerships.
meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business
and develop relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails
on forthcoming product developments and special promotions
your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
all revenue targets & objectives in line with the Sales Business Plan.

understanding of the coating process
the HubSpot CRM system, consistently record all sales activity, including sales pipeline, opportunities, and meetings
business trends and area performance to the Corporate Manager and CEO
and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to effectively convey the value proposition, key messages, and brand identity to target audiences.
emerging communication trends and technologies to enhance engagement and outreach efforts.
part of the Duncan & Todd group, on occasion may be required to assist with sales or product development for the future, which will also involve the Retail Management Team
job is a mobile position which involves regular and sometimes extensive travel across the allocated region.
stays on occasion for evening events will be required
sales track record (ideally business-to-business sales)
experience in the delivery of CPD training sessions an advantage
