Job Purpose

Our client is seeking an experienced ER Casework Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on a range of employee relation issues, providing assistance with ER casework, and activities that support the company's aims and objectives. As an ER Casework Officer, you will be supporting line managers with first-level ER casework including sickness absence, disciplinary, resolution, capability, and probation cases.

Responsibilities
  1. Advising and supporting line managers with first-level ER casework including sickness absence, disciplinary, resolution, capability, and probation cases.
  2. Proactively monitoring and managing data provided to the ER Casework team such as sickness absence reports and end of Fixed Term Contract information.
  3. Being the main point of contact between the ER Casework Team and the Pay Team, following up queries where necessary and ensuring that the Pay Team has all the required information relating to Employee Relations work that impacts on pay, such as sickness absence.
  4. Supporting the ER Casework Team on setting up formal meetings, preparing letter templates, attending formal meetings, taking notes at formal meetings.
  5. Coordinating the occupational health referral process, supporting managers to produce comprehensive referral documents, coordinating standard occupational health outcome report recommendations such as workstation assessments, stress risk assessments, etc.
  6. Supporting the ER Casework Team with workplace adjustments activity, arranging specialist referrals, obtaining PO numbers, and updating relevant trackers.
  7. Promoting and enabling equality of opportunities, and promoting the diverse needs and aspirations of the company's communities.
  8. Participating in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross-organizational groups and project teams.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience working in a similar Human Resources role with responsibility for a wide range of human resources activities, including casework experience within Employee Relations and knowledge of employment law and best practices.
  • Appreciation and awareness of policies and procedures in absence management, performance management, equal opportunities in employment, discipline, and resolution.
  • Experience using information technology including Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentations, and databases to produce letters, reports, presentations, management information, charts, and mail merge documents.
  • Membership of or working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge through experience.
