We’re looking for a motivated and passionate Assistant Director to join our team in either London or Manchester to focus on the central government sector.
We want you to support our vibrant business and manage our teams delivering exciting projects which will stretch your skills and expand your knowledge of these sectors. You’ll be part of a growing and dynamic team facing some of the most complex projects across the government and transport sectors, delivering insight and quality services increasing social value, enabling a more sustainable future, and helping us to deliver our purpose of building a better working world.
Leading integrated multiskilled teams to provide professional financial, commercial and strategic advice to clients, throughout the project lifecycle from structuring, initiation, delivery and close or re-commissioning activity.
Assist senior members of the team with key business development activities, from identification to managing relationships, including EY’s wider growth strategies
Leading client meetings and presenting impactful reports to senior client stakeholders to facilitate effective decision making
Structuring and advising on procurements, including evaluating bids received for projects on behalf of project sponsors and helping sponsors drafting bids for the provisions of public services
Building, working with and reviewing financial models, including establishing appropriate data structures and undertaking sensitivity and scenario analysis
Helping our clients make informed and robust evidence-based decisions through strategic options appraisals
Owning and fostering trusted relationships with senior clients that contribute to enhancing EY’s brand and reputation
Providing support to help clients achieve their sustainability goals

An excellent understanding of central government sectors.
At least 8 years’ experience of working in a relevant sector, either in a government or advisory environment
Working with and managing broad and complex stakeholder groups across public and private sectors
Strong strategic, commercial and financial acumen
Financial/data analysis and financial modelling capability
High quality report drafting and document preparation
Insightful and engaging presentational skills and experience communicating with senior stakeholders
The ability to thrive in a flexible working environment as part of a diverse and dynamic team

Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Excellent written English and maths and strong project management skills
Experience of leading small multi-skilled teams
Experience in building and reviewing Excel financial models
An advanced professional financial qualification e.g. CA, ACA, CFA, MBA.
Educated to bachelor degree level or equivalent
Excellent financial skills, including an understanding of corporate finance principles
