About the Role

Will work flexibility across the School Transport Service during periods of peak demand to ensure customer service, contact and records are maintained. The range of tasks will include as listed below

What is the day-to-day of the role:

Responsible for resolving day to day operational issues that arise in the delivery of School Transport Services.
Accountable for ensuring high standard of customer care are delivered at all times.
Responsible for responding to inward contact into the School Transport Services, and whenever possible resolving at first contact.
Responsible for resolving day to day operational issues that arise in the delivery of School Transport Services. This includes responding to accidents and incidents, ensuring that incident reports are completed, reporting to Health and Safety and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring decisions as well as child, operator and Passenger Assistant records are updated in a timely and accurate manner in agreed systems (including Capita One and Sharepoint lists) so that others in the team can quickly and easily identify progress and status.
Maintenance of effective working relationships with other parts of the Service and with families and schools.
Accountable to work to Standard Operating Procedures as identified by the School Transport management team.
Ensuring that data protection considerations are understood and upheld in the work that is undertaken.Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience of delivering a wide range of administrative functions and tasks with a good attention to detail.
Used to busy call-centre style activities with the ability to deal with and diffuse challenging calls.
Ability to follow well-defined processes.
Comfortable in a customer-facing role.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and oral, with a wide range of people.
Dealing sensitively with confidential information.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office programmes with a willingness to learn new software programs.
Ability to collate, compile, check and record information and data with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring the department's data quality standards are met, and handle confidential information sensitively and appropriately.
Understand and adhere to the requirements of GDPR.
Ability to demonstrate effective planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work with the minimum supervision on own initiative in a busy work environment.
Flexible team player prepared to undertake a variety of tasks.
Maintain an awareness of corporate and departmental Equalities and Health & Safety policies and procedures and apply them in the day-to-day requirementsDesirable:

Administration or Business Management Qualification
Knowledge or experience of working with Local Government (specifically Children's Services).
Previous experience in dealing with and resolving customer queries.
Previous experience working with Capita
