London, United Kingdom Troika Recruitment Full time

Job Description

The Company:

Our client is a thriving hospitality group with a passion for people. Operating 10 hotels primarily in London, with additional locations across the UK, they're dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for guests and staff alike. With an annual turnover between £50-100 million, they've perfected a lean operational model that prioritises both profitability and employee well-being.

The Role:

Are you ready to make a tangible impact on both business outcomes and people's lives? Our client is seeking a new Head of People to join their team. In this senior leadership position, reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll oversee all aspects of human resources, learning and development, and people strategies across the entire organisation. You'll spend your days split between the London support office and visiting each of the hotel properties, ensuring the culture thrives and the people flourish.

The Candidate:

We're looking for a leader who embodies our client’s values and is passionate about driving positive change. The ideal candidate will:

  • Love working with people: You thrive on building relationships and fostering a supportive environment where everyone can succeed.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills: Your empathy and adaptability allow you to connect with others on a deeper level, understanding their needs and concerns.
  • Proven track record of impact: You've made a tangible difference in previous roles, whether through developing innovative training programmes, implementing successful talent recruitment strategies, or enhancing employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills: You're a natural and present communicator, able to convey ideas clearly and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Organisational and collaboration skills: You excel at juggling multiple responsibilities and coordinating efforts across different teams and departments.
  • Commitment to exceptional guest experiences: You understand the importance of delivering outstanding service and are dedicated to ensuring the guests have unforgettable stays.
  • Passion for nurturing talent: You're committed to developing the staff, identifying high-potential employees, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Opportunity and Why Join:

As Head of People, you'll have the opportunity to play a key strategic role within a rapidly growing boutique hotel company. You will lead the HR, learning and development functions across a portfolio of over 300 employees and multiple distinctive properties throughout the UK and Europe. Working closely with the Operations Director, your initiatives will focus on enhancing the workplace culture and supporting both the staff and guests. As the leader of People, you'll have autonomy to contribute new ideas and make meaningful changes within a flexible and values-driven structure.

With an innovative Managing Director focused on expansion through new brands and international hotels, this role offers potential for career progression within a high-growth business. As Head of People for an entrepreneurial company, you'll directly support continued success while advancing your own career within a thriving hotel industry.
