We’re looking for a strategic, creatively minded,** Head of People** to join this well-established, ethical consumer brand.
Sitting on the ELT and reporting to the MD, you will play a major part in shaping this company during this next phase of growth. You must have a growth-mindset, be entrepreneurial by nature and although you’re skilled and experienced in the transactional aspect of HR/people, it’s the strategic part that excites you the most.
At £40m t/o, they have very ambitious but achievable growth targets and business goals. Supported by two very talented HR BPs, you will be responsible for making and implementing all major people related decisions.
This company is a great place to work (officially), but they want to be the best. You will strategically guide the team to ensure this happens.
**Duties in this Head of people position will include**:
- Working closely with your fellow ELT to design and implement a people and culture strategy that enables continued, ambitious but sustainable company growth
- Giving strategic input to top level people related decisions
- Developing and communicating a compelling Employee Value Proposition for current and potential team members; considering internal comms, benefits and career pathing, as well as building and sustaining a desirable organisational culture
- Being aware of the company culture, engagement levels and eNPS. Ensuring your culture goals are designed around what people need
- Drawing on your knowledge and experience within HR, processes, and best practice to influence organisational design and strategy
- Guiding and developing the HR BPs to design and implement necessary HR and People policies and processes. Monitor, review and update as required.
- Overseeing, directing and organising the work of the People team to ensure full ownership of their work and the successful achievement of the People strategic objectives
- Ensuring that the company has a robust and fair attraction and onboarding process + a clear and comprehensive retention strategy
- Ensuring the ongoing identification and development of teams and individuals
- Ensuring successful and consistent Performance Management - enabling leaders and employees to set goals aligned to the business strategy
- Drive the L&D Program to enable individuals to build capabilities in line with business needs and goals
**Skills and experience required in this Head of People position include**:
- Proven experience in a strategic HR/People role where you have made high level people decisions and implemented these with success
- An entrepreneurial, growth mindset is a must here. Must be excited by evolution and positive change.
- Confident with being a hands-on operator - you must be willing to roll up your sleeves while keeping an eye on the bigger picture - and you will have a keen interest in going beyond the immediate HR/People remit
- Able to build relationships in a hybrid working environment, and a natural ability to influence and to instil trust with others
- Be resourceful and comfortable to get creative, be motivated by taking ownership and at ease in highly ambiguous environments
- Initiate Ideas for constant improvement, high attention to detail + proactive approach
