You can be based from any of our UK office locations. You will be required to attend the Birmingham office around once a fortnight to attend face to face meetings. We have a hybrid working approach, with a combination of office and home working.
As Assistant Delivery Manager, you will work as part of a team to plan, monitor and control all aspects of Digital Services projects and programmes. The post holder may work in support of a Lead Delivery Manager or in support of a Programme Office Manager.
This role will focus on delivery, planning, RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), change control, document management, reporting and progress evaluation. Actual responsibilities will vary over time, aligned to the project or programme of work to be delivered.
of small-scale IT projects across lifecycle to reach agreed business and strategic benefits and contribute to the management of contract compliance and risk in an effective way.
Support and enable delivery teams in the maintenance of accurate and complete project and programme data and information. Ensure the quality, completeness and integrity of data.
Support DS Group or Programme Leaders to drive delivery against the agreed plan, assisting specific issues and being accountable for agreed actions.
Support Programme Finance Manager in maintaining financial records of transactions, forecasts and ensuring compliance with spend approvals and governance.
Work with suppliers and other Directorates to ensure that all programmes/projects deliver best value and maximise benefits to customers, both during delivery and following completion.
Accredited qualifications and/or experience in Programme Management Office or Programme / Project Management.
Knowledge and experience of Project and Programme Management and Controls Methodologies.
Knowledge and experience of internal finance systems (in particular PFP), and an understanding of internal financial procedures would be an advantage.
Maintaining and delivery momentum – Able to facilitate the delivery flow of a team, managing the pace and tempo. Able to actively address internal and external risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team.
