What it looks like day to day as Head of Outsourced Sales:

As the Head of Outsourced Sales at Hays Enterprise Solutions, you’ll lead a critical sales function and manage a highly experienced team. Your primary goal is to secure significant annuity “outsourced deals,” both with existing clients and prospects. Core services include Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Managed Service Provision (MSP), but there’s also a focus on Early Career Programmes, Total Talent Solutions (TTS), and facilitating work across our entire portfolio of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Plan Execution:
  • Develop and execute the sales plan, including industry sector targeting. marketing strategies and go-to-market messaging.
  • Shape deals and oversee all opportunities within the team.
  1. Solution Shaping and Representation:
  • Represent Hays as a corporate partner, demonstrating a mature, consultative, and flexible approach to solution design.
  • Understand complex recruitment propositions and present them in a straightforward manner to less-expert audiences.
  1. Proactive Opportunity Development:
  • Proactively identify opportunities.
  • Network well internally to gain a volume of warm leads / introductions.
  • Ensure alignment between the sales proposition and operational delivery model throughout the process.
  1. Prospecting and Engagement:
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to connect with prospects in the defined target market.
  • Network at Board, Senior Executive, and Director levels.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to identify, qualify, and develop sales opportunities.
  1. Opportunity Management:
  • Lead Hays sales teams from opportunity identification to appointment, maximizing fee opportunities and profit.
  • Design and deliver operational models, propositions, and strategies.
  • Manage proposal submissions, negotiations, and contract signings.

Required and desirable Skills:

  • Proven track record in a high performing Sales or Operational environment
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of outsourcing (MSP, RPO).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Tenacity and a focus on overachievement.
  • Creative and consultative approach to identifying business drivers.
  • Ability to able to deal at various functions and levels including Procurement and HR
  • Understanding of complex financial models, legal and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to shape and model solutions and business cases to meet business drivers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Network - senior executive / senior contact network
