Business Development Manager


Sector: Sales

Reports To: Sales Director


Purpose

Responsible for the growth and profitability of the modular permanent space business within a defined geographic area.


Experience, Qualifications & Training


  • Communication: Excellent communication skills
  • Relationship Building: Strong relationship-building and deal-closing abilities
  • Technical Knowledge: Good technical knowledge with the ability to understand and meet client requirements
  • Value Selling: Experience in value selling
  • Project Management: Sales project management experience
  • Bids/Tenders: Ability to manage bids/tenders from initiation to completion
  • Sales Cycle: Experience with long sales cycle, two-stage projects
  • Pre-construction: Pre-construction knowledge
  • Industry Experience: Preferably a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a strong sales track record, ideally within the modular sales industry
  • Commercial Acumen: Must have a thorough understanding of cost, pricing, and commercial aspects
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Personal Attributes: Hardworking, committed, and a team player


Principal Accountabilities


  • Sales Pipeline: Develop and manage a sales pipeline within the region to meet business plan targets
  • Regional Strategy: Create and implement a regional strategy to meet sales targets, leveraging marketing and telemarketing resources
  • Key Accounts: Develop key accounts for long-term profitable business within the region
  • Bid Management: Ensure bids are appropriate in terms of margin opportunity and risk profile
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate and timely CRM records, pipelines, and sales reports for effective business decision-making
  • Order Handover: Lead order handover meetings to ensure seamless transition to design, manufacturing, and operations
  • Promotion: Promote the company’s products at sales meetings, conferences, and exhibitions as required
  • Collaboration: Support and collaborate with sales team members and other departments to ensure best practices and continuous improvement
