Director of Sales and Revenue

The Director of Sales & Revenue position is ideal for an experienced sales and revenue leader looking to make a lasting impact as the company grows. You will oversee the sales, revenue, distribution, and reservations teams, driving performance while maintaining the brand’s values. With a sharp analytical mindset, you’ll be ready to tackle challenges and utilise your proven track record in growing and maximising revenue across a multi-property business. Your expertise will play a vital role in establishing our venues as a commercial success. Additionally, you will manage the different Major Market Segments—Long, Extended, and Transient—adapting strategies for each to meet our goals.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Team Leadership and Development
- • Recruit, train, and cultivate a high-performing team, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
- • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, offering guidance to help them achieve their targets and KPIs.
- • Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular feedback sessions, and carry out performance evaluations to encourage continuous improvement.
- • Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, open communication, and celebrates staff achievements.
- Employee Welfare and Work Environment
- • Prioritise employee well-being, ensuring a safe and supportive work environment.
- • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, promoting a safe space for both staff and residents.
- • Implement eco-friendly practices to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainability.
- Sales and Revenue Management
- • Develop and execute the sales and revenue strategy, aimed at attracting and retaining guests while maintaining a competitive edge.
- • Maximise revenue generation, including upselling and cost-effective promotional strategies.
- • Implement strategies to enhance revenue within the department and meet business development goals.
- • Take responsibility for overseeing yield management, coordinating rate loading in our PMS to align with budget forecasts and online distribution systems.
- • Analyse financial performance metrics to identify areas for growth and cost reduction.
- • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitoring expenses and revenue streams to meet profitability targets.
- • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining service standards.
- • Ensure the integrity of data across systems for effective revenue stream analysis and generate weekly/monthly business reports for Senior Management.
- Client and Stakeholder Relations
- • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, including corporate clients, travel agents, agencies, and local businesses.
- • Maintain excellent communication with internal teams and external customers and suppliers.
- • Ensure that all promotional materials are up to date and properly distributed, ensuring the team is informed about available promotions.
- Customer Experience and Innovation
- • Ensure the delivery of high-quality service that exceeds resident expectations and aligns with our brand standards.
- • Continuously innovate to enhance the department's offerings, staying competitive and meeting evolving resident preferences.
- • Implement initiatives to improve the overall resident experience, such as personalised services, special packages, or loyalty programs.
- Performance and Goal Setting
- • Set departmental targets and objectives, and establish work schedules, policies, and procedures.
- • Establish monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, and administer the sales budget accordingly.
- • Implement a cohesive approach to driving sales by reviewing and maintaining a healthy new business pipeline.
- • Achieve successful RFP negotiations and profitable agreements.
- Operational Efficiency
- • Ensure that the Major Market Segment mix (Long, Extended, and Transient stays) remains a clear focus.
- • Coordinate the development and execution of sales strategies, aligning marketing and operational plans.
- • Operate within departmental budgets, ensuring effective cost controls and schedule management.
- • Generate business through exceptional networking and sales expertise, including social media tools.
