As we continue to expand our portfolio of ground-breaking therapies, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Bioinformatics Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead portfolio of multiple data projects and work closely with business and IT functions to deliver data projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Gather needs, propose and implement solutions to ingest, organize, and unify internal and external data sources.
- Define and evolve the system architecture as the portfolio progresses, shaping and implementing system features and user-facing capabilities.
- Coordinate and drive the adoption of standard representations of drug discovery data and metadata to integrate and harmonize proprietary data sources.
- Lead development of provisioning data pipelines for reporting and data science, including implementation of Data Commons.
- Ensure the security and compliance of data by implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and other security measures.
- Champion and ensure data integrity through best practices in FAIR data, reproducibility, and documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline with 4+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering ideally within the biotech/pharma space.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in R and/or Python, as well as experience working with cloud services, SQL databases, containerization (Docker), and other data management systems
- Experience building ETL pipelines; writing CI/CD automation in Gitlab for building application images, testing, and deployment; working within development and production environments; and creating production-grade code.
- Successful track record designing software and hardware systems architecture including API and database design, application development, and DevOps practices.
