Yourimpact
This is an exciting opportunity foryou to work on a greenfield MLbased software platform and ambitiousComputational Biology research programme that will transform thebiopharmaceutical world as we know it.Working in a highly creativeiterative environment you will be partnering with leading engineersscientists and ML researchers to build the critical platformdriving this transformation. This is a newly created role and youwill need to use your previous experience and show initiative inorder to fully carve out yourcontribution.

What you willdo

  • Work withother engineers and scientists to build Isos platform applying AIto biological systems.
  • Design develop andmaintain largescale bioinformatics pipelines for the ingestionmanagement and analysis of biological datasets especially omicsimaging and clinical data.
  • Perform dataanalysis and data quality assurance according to bestpractices.
  • Design and develop representationsmodels and computational modules for biological data optimised forAI research and production.
  • Contribute to thewider development of Isos data and computational platform workingwith other engineers to architect build and operate the platformscomponents.
  • Work with other members of the dataengineering team to ensure the quality integrity and scalability ofdata and pipelines.
  • Partner and collaboratewith a diverse set of teams incl. Computational Biology ML researchproduct business development andoperations.
  • Provide documentation guidance andcommunication on bioinformatics to the widerorganisation.



Skills andqualificationsEssential

  • Experiencein bioinformatics with a focus on data engineering and pipelinedevelopment
  • Experience building scalablesystems for the ingestion and preparation of large scaledatasets
  • Strong knowledge of bioinformaticstools and methodologies and familiarity with the analysis of largebiological datasets such as omics imaging and clinicaldata
  • Experience working with commonbioinformatics datasets and data repositories such as NCBI CosmicClinVar UK Biobank TCGA dbSNP OMIM
  • Programmingand software engineering skills in a language such as Python JavaScala C/C or Go
  • Knowledge of data managementtools and technologies including ETL frameworks database enginesand file and object stores
  • Some exposure tocloud environments
  • Demonstrate ongoing careerprogression / trajectory and a passion forlearning
  • Either a BSc/MSc degree inBioinformatics Computer Science a related technical field orequivalent practical experience

  • A PhD inBioinformatics Computer Science or a relatedfield
  • Exposure to machine learning andexperience building machine learningsystems
  • Experience working with life scienceontologies
  • Exposure to datacuration
  • Experience with data governance anddata lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of thepharmaceutical industry ideally with a focus on drugdiscovery
  • Experience building deploying andmaintaining production systems on GCP
  • Strongexperience in Python
  • Experience in statisticalanalysis and datavisualisation
