SEN Support Assistant Nurturing Primary School Hackney

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oneonone and small group support to primary students with SEN helping them engage with the curriculum and develop essential skills.
  • Assist in adapting classroom materials and activities to accommodate various learning styles and needs ensuring accessibility for all students.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to implement individualized learning plans tracking student progress and providing feedback to enhance educational outcomes.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment encouraging students to express themselves and build their confidence.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers providing updates on student progress and strategies to support learning at home.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your understanding of SEN practices and improve your effectiveness in the role.
  • Support the implementation of classroom behavior management strategies promoting positive interactions among students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children preferably in an educational or support role especially with primary age students with special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting the personal and academic development of children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with students parents and staff.
  • Patience empathy and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
