The school is looking for a compassionateand dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with achild with autism. You will provide tailored individual support toensure the child can engage with the curriculum develop socialskills and succeed in a structuredsetting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide1:1 support to a student with autism focusing on their academicsocial and emotional development.
  • Implement andadapt individual learning plans to meet the specific needs of thechild.
  • Support the child in accessing thecurriculum and participating fully in classroomactivities.
  • Collaborate with the class teacherand SENCo to create a structured and supportive learningenvironment.
  • Monitor the childs progressproviding feedback to teachers and the SENCo and adjustingstrategies as needed.
  • Assist the child with anypersonal care needs and help manage their behaviour in a positiveconstructivemanner.

Experience andQualifications:

  • Previousexperience working with children with autism ispreferred.
  • Understanding of autism and thestrategies required to support children with thiscondition.
  • Strong communication and teamworkskills with the ability to collaborate with teachers parents andexternal professionals.
  • A patient empatheticand nurturing approach.
  • A clear DBScheck.
  • Legal right to work in theUK.
