About the Service

Devon County Council  have an exciting opportunity for an experienced  Enquiry Line Practitioner to join our Fostering team within Children's Social Care. The key purpose of the role is to improve the outcomes for our most vulnerable young people and families in Devon to encourage positive change. Our Enquiry Line Practitioners make a vital contribution supporting the recruitment and assessment of new foster carers. About the Role

As an Enquiry Line Practitioner in Devon, you will support the Fostering Service with increasing the pool of foster carers within Fostering Devon to support DCC’s Children's services; recruit and prepare prospective foster carers in their journey to become effective foster carers; be the first point of contact for members of the public who are interested in becoming foster carer. Additionally, to assist the team with statutory checks, maintenance of relevant databases and provide statistics to the Fostering Service when required.

It is an exciting time to join Fostering Devon, Devon County Council’s fostering service. We are an innovative, highly motivated service who work in a restorative and relational based manner throughout the different teams. You will be part of the busy Recruitment & Assessment Team, yet your role will greatly benefit the whole Fostering Service and Childrens Teams. You would be working closely with colleagues in Fostering Devon as well as with members of the Fostering Southwest Hub.

About You

Along with your understanding of fostering, you will need to be committed to providing a high standard of customer service, using your effective interpersonal skills, a positive professional attitude fulfilling all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English. You will need to have the ability to work in partnership with other professionals and be open to new ideas and suggestions while also sharing your ideas.
