Job description

About the role:
Work proactively and collaboratively within the Social Services and Wellbeing Directorate, the wider authority and with partners to integrate provision and opportunities where appropriate.
Lead the facilitation, engagement and promotion of participation in healthy and creative wellbeing provision and services for the benefit, enjoyment and positive outcomes for people in Powys.
Effectively manage, monitor, maintain and enhance (as appropriate) the leisure contract and partnership between Powys and Freedom Leisure. Identify innovative opportunities to facilitate, support and enhance people’s health and wellbeing, which includes identifying, bidding for and managing grant
funding. Develop and adapt services to create a more sustainable offer for the future.
About you:
Have a passion for services that support and provide benefits to people’s health and wellbeing – focusing on early intervention and prevention. Experience of successfully managing and delivering projects and be able to demonstrate skills in building positive collaborative partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage others. You will take a creative approach to problem solving to find effective solutions. Enjoy working in a varied mix of services and networks, encouraging a culture of well-being and developing opportunities that enable people to live healthy, happy lives.
Organised, motivated and interested in identifying, creating and facilitating opportunities for wellbeing through co-production, for the betterment of a wide range of people.
What you will do:
Enable people in Powys to receive effective and beneficial services through the Council and a range of other partners, agencies and organisations to support wellbeing, early intervention and prevention agendas. To support the Community Wellbeing Senior Manager, leading as client liaison officer for the contract with Freedom Leisure and associated projects including (but not
exclusive to) the capital programme, budget monitoring, compliance and centre visits. To represent Community Wellbeing Services, the Social Services & Wellbeing Directorate and wider Powys agendas when necessary – locally, regionally and
nationally.
