About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Travel Officer to join our team at Powys County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering education and promotional schemes to encourage sustainable modes of transport within the County.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing education and promotional schemes to promote sustainable transport modes, such as walking, cycling, and public transport.
  • Working with schools and larger employers, including the County Council, to encourage a shift towards sustainable transport modes.
  • Assisting in reducing dependency on private motor vehicle use to meet national targets for carbon reduction and transport policies.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for sustainable transport initiatives and developing strategies to implement them.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a passion for sustainability and a proven track record of managing projects with a sustainable theme. You will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
