About the role:
Powys Arts Service has been awarded a grant from the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) to begin delivering the Arts Strategy and to support a number of workstreams, specifically around relationship building, online collaboration and promotion of the
creative industries. The Digital Arts Officer will support the Project Manager with successfully delivering the grant-funded project, with a particular emphasis on digital workstreams, in line with our
Arts Strategy values.
About you:
• Experience of working in the arts and creative industries with a focus on digital developments
• Experience of working with ICT specialists to jointly deliver projects
• Proven experience of developing and creating websites and other interactive digital activities
• Specialist knowledge of systems to create and build websites
• Ability to connect with others and form positive relationships
• Excellent ICT skills – able use an extensive range of ICT applications and tools, and provide advice and support to other staff in their use and application
What you will do:
• Work within the project team and on all aspects of the project, as appropriate until completion in December 2025, with a particular focus on digital workstreams.
• Work directly with ICT external specialists on navigation and design of the Stori Powys website to provide Powys’ creative industries with one collaborative platform to promote arts and culture activities and events across the county, along with opportunities for freelancers to advertise skills and availability.
• Take the lead on the creation of an online events toolkit and contacts directory to break down barriers for event organisers
• Create, co-ordinate and deliver training for the creative industry networks and freelancers across Powys to use our Stori Powys website to market and promote what’s on, and their skills
• Assist with grant funding opportunities with a particular focus on digital developments to further the Arts Strategy values and objectives, and to link with Cultural Services Digital Strategy
• Relationship building is key to this role and the Digital Arts Officer will seek to support the Project Manager strengthen and build strong relationships between local arts communities in Powys, council officers and members, and public sector agencies.
