Bank Support Practitioner

Are you looking for a rewarding role that fits around your commitments? If you share our values and you’re ready for some job satisfaction, then look no further
Our fabulous team in Greenock are on the lookout for compassionate and creative individuals with a positive and nurturing attitude to join them as Bank Support Practitioners. Our bank contracts will give you flexibility over the days and hours you work, tell us when you're available and we'll look to give you shifts to fit.
You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Bank Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills and provide full training.
The Role
As a Bank Support Practitioner you will play a vital role within our team. You will cover shifts to ensure continued high-quality, person-centred care and support during times of annual leave, training or sickness.
You'll support individuals living in their own homes in the community with disabilities and/or additional support needs. As a Support Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends.
The people we support enjoy being active in their communities, from arts and crafts, bingo and shows at the Beacon to watching the football and going out for a tasty bite to eat. We’ll be looking to you to take an active interest in their hobbies and enable individuals to explore new ones.
Many of the people we support have their own mobility cars, so it would be desirable if you hold a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 year's experience on the roads. However, this is not essential to join our team.
To be part of our team, we’ll need you to:
Have an empathetic and caring nature. Good observation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in using computers. Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own. Good organisational skills.Shift Patterns
Our dedicated friendly team provide 24/7 support which is tailored to the needs of each individual, so depending on shift length you may be supporting more than one individual but do not worry as we factor travel into your hours. Our shifts include earlies, days, lates and sleepovers.
We’re looking to fill these posts as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert if suitable candidates are found before the advert closes. To avoid disappointment, pop your application in early.
Closing Date: 1st December (We reserve the right to close this vacancy at any time)
If you are applying via a job board then please be aware that you must submit an application via our website otherwise we will be unable to contact you
All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer- this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.
We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications irrespective of race, ethnicity or national origin, religion, gender, disability, age, marital, parental status or sexual orientation. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams.
We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us
